In this introductory course, we will cover the basic features and interface of GarageBand '09 to help you tap into your creative spirit and get you started with a project. Even if you've never played an instrument before, GarageBand '09 has a variety of built in basic and artist tutorials to help you learn to play guitar and/or piano, as well as hundreds of built in copyright free audio and loops for digital sampling.
Music Making
In this course we’ll take things a step further and focus primarily on the creation, mixing, and sharing of your music projects. We'll teach you how to connect various USB and MIDI instruments, external microphones, adjust sound automation, add special audio effects, and even use some of the built in sounds to add depth and diversity to your projects. Whether you’re soundtracking a personal slideshow and/or movie, recording your bands’ new track, interested in making a custom ringtone, or a podcast for your business, we’ll help you plan it all out. Then, when we're all done, we'll show you how to package and upload your project to iTunes and iWeb to share with the world.
Podcast Making
With the invention of the iPod, Podcasts have become the newest craze. You've seen them promoted for anything from your favorite radio and TV stations, to educational instruction and professional lectures. Whether they're audio or video podcasts, we'll show you how you can capitalize on GarageBand '09's features to customize and create your very own Podcast to share. When we're done, we'll show you how you can add your Podcast to the iTunes music store and even add it to your personal website.
